Malarone is considered an antimalarials, a type of medication that is designed to prevent and treat malaria. It’s targeted towards young children and pregnant women. There are other drugs besides malarone, such as quinine sulfate, mefloquine and primaquine phosphate.

Because Malarone is a combination medication—a type of medicine that includes two or more active components in a single drug—it’s very effective in killing P.falciparum, the parasite that brings malaria into a victim’s body. Moreover, it’s considered as the most effective antimalarial medication in circulation.

What are the advantages of using it?

In using Malarone, those who have been afflicted with the disease will be given proper treatment. It kills the parasites living in the body, such as the red blood cells and the tissues found in the liver. Since it’s the most effective antimalarial medication, it’s expected that your disease will be treated accordingly. However, it’s best to pair it with primaquine which helps it complete the cure and prevent a relapse of the disease.
